Gildo Medina

Gildo Medina (Mexico City, 1980) is a Mexican multidisciplinary artist and designer. In 2020, he was recognized in Taschen’s “100 Best Illustrators” for the fourth consecutive time.

Medina has spent his career studying and working in France, Italy, Spain, Mexico and the United States, and his work has been exhibited at prestigious art fairs, museums and galleries, embassies, foundations and other cultural institutions across the globe.

At the tender age of 13, Medina began building his academic and professional qualifications in Mexico City in the drawing and painting halls of the emblematic Academia de San Carlos and earned Bachelor degrees in design at Universidad Iberoamericana and design and fashion advertising at Universidad Jannette Klein. He later studied advertising and photography at Central Saint Martins in London. And in Italy he earned a Master in Arts Management at IED Florence.

Through his many collaborations with luxury fashion brands, including Louis Vuitton, Ferragamo, Chanel, Moncler, and others, Medina’s work blurs the fine line between art and design and his work has earned him more than 30 awards across different artistic disciplines.
