About Eugenia
Born and raised in Mexico City, Eugenia Peralta comes from a family of artists, growing into a lifelong passion for art. She graduated from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City with a degree in Communication. She started a boutique public relations agency and worked with luxury and fashion brands such as Macario Jimenez, Clara Gonzalez, and Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.
She also organized a few art shows with local artists, giving them exposure to media and collectors. Afterwards, and following her passion for the arts, she earned her MA in Contemporary Art at Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York City. During her years in New York, Eugenia worked at Clifton Benevento, a well-known gallery in Soho, as well as for NADA, a not-for-profit art fair. Other positions included organizing an art auction fundraiser for the American Friends of the Bambi Homes Colombia, in addition to various freelance projects, all of which provided Eugenia with a wide-ranging understanding of the art world’s many activities. After several years in New York, Eugenia moved to Miami in 2015 where she immediately immersed herself in the city’s unique and vibrant cultural scene. Eugenia is always interested in connecting with both emerging and established artists, including those working in mediums ranging from painting to sculpture, to mixed media installations.
She is therefore passionate about establishing new relationships and promoting the work of artists practicing today in the Miami area, throughout South America, and beyond. As an art consultant, Eugenia has focused her work on building bridges between artists and collectors, with a special emphasis on helping her clients to make informed investments in art. In order to best advise about art purchases, Eugenia dedicates time to get to know her clients and learn what motivates and inspires them. Previous clients have sought Eugenia’s expertise for undertakings ranging from starting an art collection to developing established collections. She has also worked with businesses and corporate clients to help them better understand their aesthetic interests, establish budgets, and provide guidance during the art selection and acquisition processes. She is an active member of the Mexican Cultural Institute in Miami, as well of The Ant Project, a non-profit community dedicated to the arts. Additionaly, Eugenia serves as a board member for the annual Art Auction for Mexico Vivo, a non for profit dedicated to promote sexual health and education.
